AuthenticAfrican shatters NBA 2K League scoring record in triple overtime loss

AuthenticAfrican (Mehyar Ahmed-Hassan) scored 84 points, shattering the previous NBA 2K League record of 54, in a 101-93 triple overtime loss to 76ers GC Friday Night. AuthenticAfrican set the record with 3:34 to spare in regulation and had 29 of the team’s first 32 points and all but two of the team’s points in the second half and three overtimes. He finished 40-of-55 from the field and also recorded seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Additionally, he tied the game with 1.2 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
Both teams went back and forth throughout regulation and each of the first two overtime periods before 76ers GC took control in the third overtime. The game was the first double or triple overtime game in the league’s history. Grizz Gaming is now 5-7 on the regular season.
Radiant (Ethan White) once again had a huge game for 76ersGC, posting 30 points and dishing out 23 assists, tying a season-high for any Grizz Gaming opponent. Steez (Alexander Bernstein) led the team in scoring with 32 points on 15-of-22 shooting to go with 10 rebounds. The rest of the 76ers GC lineup all scored in double figures, with iFEAST (Mihad Feratovic) grabbing a game-high 15 boards.
