Grizz Gaming advances in THE TICKET, defeats Lakers Gaming

Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated Lakers Gaming 2-0 (73-64, 84-56) in a best-of-three series to move past the first round of THE TICKET powered by AT&T. The Grizz will take on Knicks Gaming in the second round tomorrow at 4 p.m. CT.

The first half was tight in Game 1, with the Lakers taking a four-point lead into the break. However, a 23-12 advantage for the Grizz in the third quarter shifted momentum and the Grizz took home the win. Vandi (Zach Vandivier) led the Grizz in scoring with 20 points to go with 11 assists. G O O F Y 7 5 7 (Dayvon Curry) had a double-double of his own with 18 points and 16 rebounds. SAV (Sten Aleksander Valge Saar) led the Lakers with 26 points and six assists.

The Grizz started faster in Game 2, winning the first quarter 23-12 before taking a 16-point lead into the break. Memphis’ team put the game on ice and the rout was on in the third quarter as they outscored the Lakers 22-9 in the period. Vandi (27 points, 10 assists) and G O O F Y 7 5 7 (16 points, 16 rebounds) each recorded their second double-double of the night.
