Grizz Gaming begins play in ‘THE TURN’ with 77-66 win over Raptors Uprising GC

Indianapolis, Ind. — Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated Raptors Uprising GC 77-66 to begin Group Play in THE TURN on Tuesday. THE TURN is a three-week tournament (Tuesday, May 24 – Saturday, June 11) with all 24 NBA 2K League teams participating. To view THE TURN tournament group play schedule, click here.
BP (Michael Diaz) led the way for Grizz Gaming with 24 points and eight assists on 9-of-17 shooting. Spartxn (Josh McHatten) posted a double-double with 19 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and four rebounds while shooting 7-of-10 from the field. Jrod (Justin Rodriguez) tallied 17 points and eight rebounds while knocking down 5-of-6 shots from 3-point range.
Big Saint (Xavier St. John) totaled 25 points with six steals for Raptors Uprising while Dimez (Artreyo Boyd) pitched in 14 points and eight assists.
Grizz Gaming raced to a 43-27 lead at the halftime break behind 12 points each from BP and Spartxn. Memphis’ squad stretched its lead to 17 points after three quarters, 59-42, as they cruised to a win to begin play in Group D. Grizz Gaming controlled the boards, outrebounding Raptors Uprising 23-12, and outscored Toronto 8-1 from the free throw line.
Grizz Gaming returns to action against Hornets Venom GT on Thursday, May 26 at 7:35 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the game on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
THE TURN begins with two weeks of remote group play (Tuesday, May 24 – Friday, May 27; Tuesday, May 31 – Friday, June 3) to determine the four teams from each six‑team group that will advance to the round‑of‑16 in-person bracket play at the NBA 2K League Studio in Indianapolis from Wednesday, June 8 – Saturday, June 11.
