Grizz Gaming collects second straight win, beats Celtics Crossover Gaming

Grizz Gaming picked up its second straight win Tuesday night with a 2-1 series victory over Celtics Crossover Gaming (59-69, 76-62, 87-68).

In Game 1, Grizz Gaming led 16-15 after the first quarter before a late run in the second by Celtics Crossover handed the Grizz a seven-point halftime deficit (35-28). Celtics Crossover maintained the lead for the remainder of the game. AuthenticAfrican (Mehyar Ahmed-Hassan) had a season-high 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting while Vandi (Zach Vandivier) finished with 20 points and 11 assists. oFab (Albano Thomallari) led Celtics Crossover with 35 points and seven assists.

Celtics Crossover led by as many as 13 in the second quarter of Game 2, but Grizz Gaming earned a 23-14 edge in the third to cut the lead to 53-51 entering the fourth. Multiple runs in the fourth pushed the Grizz ahead and forced a Game 3 as the team outscored Celtics Crossover 48-23 in the second half. Vandi led Grizz Gaming with 40 points while G O O F Y 7 5 7 (Dayvon Curry) posted 14 points and 16 rebounds. oFab had 43 of the Celtics’ 62 points.

Grizz Gaming came out firing in Game Three, opening the game on a 7-0 run and leading 22-14 at the end of the first. The Grizz pushed the lead to double digits (45-32) at halftime and led by as many as 15 on the heels of 22 points (9-10 FG, 4-4 3P) from Vandi. Memphis’ team maintained a double digit lead through the second half to seal the series victory. Vandi recorded 32 points and 11 assists while AuthenticAfrican (23 points) posted his second 20-point outing of the evening. oFab had 50 of Celtics Crossover’s 68 points.
