Grizz Gaming drops Group Stage Game to Nets GC

Memphis, Tenn. — Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, fell to NetsGC 73-60 in the second game of Group Stage play in THE TIPOFF powered by AT&T.

Doc (Wahid Faiz) led NetsGC with 32 points, five assists and three steals on 12-for-16 shooting while Shotz (Connor Rodrigues) tallied 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Tate (Michael Tate) dished out 12 assists with seven points.

BP (Michael Diaz) posted his second double-double in as many games with 12 points and 14 assists while JMoney (Jordan Martinez) scored a team-high 22 points with three rebounds. AuthenticAfrican (Mehyar Ahmed-Hassan) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.

NetsGC jumped out to a 24-17 lead with Dot scoring 18 points in the first quarter. Grizz Gaming used strong defense in the second quarter to shrink the deficit to four points at halftime, 37-33. NetsGC extended the lead to double-digits while limiting Grizz Gaming to just seven points in the third quarter.

Grizz Gaming outrebounded NetsGC 25-13 but couldn’t make up for the hot-shooting from Doc, who shot 8-for-12 from beyond the arc while Grizz Gaming shot 8-for-21 from 3-point range as a team.
