Grizz Gaming drops tight contest against Lakers Gaming

Grizz Gaming moved to 0-2 in the regular season with a 56-52 loss to Lakers Gaming at the NBA 2K League Studio powered by Intel Thursday night. The team returns to action tomorrow night against Kings Guard Gaming at 9 p.m. CT on Twitch and YouTube Gaming.
After an extremely slow start offensively last week, Grizz Gaming started the game by making more three-pointers (3) in the first quarter than it did in last week’s game. Jayrod knocked down a pair of triples and Vandi dropped four assists as the teams played to a 15-15 tie after the opening frame.
Grizz opened the second quarter on a 7-0 run and opened up a nine-point lead before the Lakers went on a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to 30-28 at halftime. ToXSiK had all 13 of his points on 5-of-5 (3-3 3P) shooting at the break.
In the third, Lakers Gaming closed the quarter on a run to own a 42-36 lead entering the final frame. Lakers stayed in control of the lead the rest of the way despite advances from Grizz Gaming.
AuthenticAfrican (12 points, 12 rebounds) posted another double-double to lead Grizz Gaming. Vandi was close to one of his own with 11 points and eight assists. Mooty had 12 points, 17 boards and five assists for Lakers Gaming.
