Grizz Gaming’s postseason hopes were dashed in a 72-69 loss to Raptors Uprising, eliminating the squad from the NBA 2K League playoff chase.
AuthenticAfrican (Mehyar Ahmed-Hassan) followed up his league-record 84-point performance last week with 33 points (16-22 FG) to lead all scorers. The Toronto native also added 11 assists and five steals. UniversalPhenom (Antonio Saldivar) added 12 points and five rebounds for Grizz Gaming, which dropped to 5-8 on the season.
AuthenticAfrican slashed in for a dunk to cut Grizz Gaming’s deficit to one (70-69) with 14.5 seconds left in the game. After Raptors Uprising made two free throws, UniversalPhenom misfired on a three-pointer, but DDouble2K (Daniel Davis) grabbed the offensive rebound and called timeout with 4.5 seconds left. DDouble2K got a look at the potential game-tying three at the buzzer, but the shot went long as Grizz Gaming fell out of the playoff picture.

Memphis native Kenny (Kenneth Hailey) totaled 25 points (12-14 FG), six rebounds and 10 assists against his hometown team. Raptors Uprising improved to 7-6, moving above .500 after winning for the sixth time in its last seven games.
Grizz Gaming scored the first six points of the contest and led 9-2 midway through the first quarter before Raptors Uprising answered with a 14-2 run to close the opening frame with a 16-11 advantage. Raptors Uprising outscored Grizz Gaming 33-20 after the opening burst and led 35-29 at halftime.
