Grizz Gaming falls at the buzzer against Kings Guard Gaming

Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, fell at the buzzer in Game Two of a best-of-three series against Kings Guard Gaming Friday night.

In Game One, Grizz Gaming kept up through the first half, but was outscored by 12 in the second half before falling 82-68. Four of five gamers reached double figures, led by Vandi’s (Zach Vandivier) 23 points and eight assists. G O O F Y 7 5 7 (Dayvon Curry) posted a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jrod (Justin Rodriguez) added 15 points (6-8 FG; 3-4 3P) and six assists. Bash (Matthew Robles) and Seemo (Waseem Talbert) led Kings Guard Gaming with 20 points each.

After a slow start by both teams in Game Two, which saw the game played to an 11-8 Grizz Gaming lead after the opening period, Grizz Gaming exploded for 24 second quarter points and owned a double digit lead for most of the period. Memphis’ team went into halftime leading 35-23. The Grizz maintained a double-digit lead through the majority of the half before a fourth quarter rally by Kings Guard led to the buzzer-beating three and a final score of 60-58. Vandi led all scorers with 27 points. G O O F Y 7 5 7 had another double-double of 19 points and 18 boards.
