Grizz Gaming falls to Hawks Talon GC 62-60 in season finale

Memphis, Tenn. — Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, fell to Hawks Talon GC 62-60 in the first round of THE TICKET, the final 5v5 tournament of the season, bringing its 2022 season to a close.

Hotshotx305 (Juan Gonzalez) led the way for Hawks Talon GC with 22 points and 16 rebounds while shooting 11-of-13 from the field. Ceez (Caesar Martinez) also posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 assists. Witness (John Mushaben) added 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting from 3-point range.

BP (Michael Diaz) led Grizz Gaming with 19 points and 10 assists but rendered four turnovers. Spartxn (Josh McHatten) posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jrod (Justin Rodriguez) added nine points and 10 rebounds.

Ceez found Hotshotx305 in the lane for a dunk to give Hawks Talon GC the game-winning basket with 1:03 remaining in the fourth quarter. AuthenticAfrican (Meyhar Ahmed-Hassan) had a look to tie the game for Grizz Gaming but the shot rimmed-out as the Hawks held on for the win.

Grizz Gaming outshot Hawks Talon 57% to 48% from the field but Atlanta’s squad outscored Memphis 36-27 from 3-point range. The Hawks won the turnover battle 6-2.
