Grizz Gaming falls to Knicks Gaming in Group Stage play

Memphis, Tenn. — Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, sustained an 82-61 loss to Knicks Gaming in Group Stage play of THE TIPOFF.

Duck (Christopher Charles) led all scorers with 31 points on 7-of-14 shooting from 3-point range for Knicks Gaming. OriginalMalik (Malik Hobson) totaled 20 points and four assists while Glo (Ludlow Samuels) posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Spartxn (Josh McHatten) posted a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead Grizz Gaming. Jrod (Justin Rodriguez) added 15 points and four rebounds on 6-of-10 shooting. BP (Michael Diaz) tallied 12 points and eight assists. Grizz Gaming shot 48% from the field compared to 62% from Knicks Gaming.

Knicks Gaming took command from the start, outscoring Memphis 25-8 in the first period. New York shot 10-for-14 from the field and 5-for-8 from 3-point range in the first. Knicks Gaming scored 21 second-quarter points and extended their lead to 47-27 at the half. The Grizz trimmed the lead to 65-42 going into the final frame but Knicks Gaming would stretch the lead to as many as 25 points in the fourth quarter, putting an end to Memphis’ comeback bid.
