Grizz Gaming falls to second place Jazz Gaming

Grizz Gaming (7-7) lost 2-1 (74-69, 67-86, 59-60) in a best-of-three series against the second-place Jazz Gaming (11-2) Friday night. Despite the loss, the Grizz have won seven of its last 10 regular season games.
The teams traded blows for the first three quarters in a tight Game 1. Grizz Gaming took a 19-14 lead into the second quarter, but the Jazz countered and took a one-point lead into the break. The third quarter proved to be the difference as Grizz Gaming held a 23-17 advantage before holding on in the fourth. Vandi (Zach Vandivier) scored 35 points to go with eight assists. G O O F Y 7 5 7 (Dayvon Curry) had 13 points and a team season-high 20 rebounds to go with seven assists. Splashy (Kimanni Ingram) led Jazz Gaming with 40 points.
In Game 2, the Jazz held a consistent double-digit lead on its way to a 19-point victory. Vandi led the Grizz with 20 points and seven assists. G O O F Y 7 5 7 had another double-double of 16 points and 11 boards. Splashy posted 52 points to lead Jazz Gaming.
Both defenses tightened up in a close Game 3 as the teams were deadlocked 41-41 heading into the fourth quarter. The Jazz led for the majority of the period, but a 6-0 Grizz Gaming run gave Memphis’ team a 59-58 lead with 4.8 seconds remaining. Jazz Gaming sealed the win with a layup with 0.7 seconds left. Vandi led the Grizz with 24 points and nine assists. G O O F Y 7 5 7 added 18 points and 17 rebounds.
