Grizz Gaming falls to Warriors Gaming in regular season finale

Grizz Gaming lost 2-0 (55-83, 44-45) in a best-of-three series to Warriors Gaming Friday night. The Grizz finished the regular season with a record of 7-9.

The Grizz struggled to get going offensively in the early stages of Game 1, scoring only eight points in the opening quarter. The Warriors Gaming squad was able to use a full-court press to force Grizz Gaming into a few early turnovers as they grabbed a 37-25 lead heading into the halftime break. Gradient (Samuel Salyers) slipped behind the Grizz defense for a drunk to stretch the Warriors lead to 20 points at 51-31 in the third period. Vandi (Zach Vandivier) connected on a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter to make it a 42-56 game, but the Grizzlies were unable to complete the comeback, as the Warriors pulled away late to win 83-55 in Game 1. G O O F Y 7 5 7(Dayvon Curry) collected a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead Grizz Gaming. Vandi totaled 22 points, six assists and two rebounds on 9-of-22 shooting. CB13 (Charles Bostwick) led Warriors Gaming with 34 points, 15 assists and one rebound on 13-of-23 shooting.

Game 2 would be a defensive struggle as both teams played strong defense throughout. Vandi stared the game strong with 19 points in the first half as the Grizz trailed 23-26 heading into the locker room. Vandi Connected on three-pointer early in the fourth quarter to trim the Warriors lead from six points to three, before the game would be delayed with streaming issues. Following the re-start of Game 2, Grizz Gaming trimmed the Warriors lead to one point with six seconds remaining in the game. The Warriors held on to the ball for five seconds without inbounding the ball as time ultimately expired. Grizz Gaming dropped Game 2 of the series 45-44 to end the regular season. Vandi tallied 32 of the Grizz 44 points to go with three assists and one steal. G O O F Y 7 5 7 grabbed a game-high 20 rebounds to go with four points. CB13 totaled 11 points, five assists and three steals for Warriors Gaming in Game 2.
