Grizz Gaming knocks off Knicks

Grizz Gaming earned its third victory of the season, knocking off Knicks Gaming 69-61 Saturday at the NBA 2K League Studio Powered by Intel. Grizz Gaming is now 3-5 in regular season play. For the second straight week, AuthenticAfrican (Mehyar Ahmed-Hassan) set a Grizz Gaming record for assists (21).

Both bigs for Grizz Gaming posted double-doubles. For the second straight game, UniversalPhenom (Antonio Saldivar) had a team-high 24 points (11-17 FG) to go with 11 rebounds at power forward. At center, DDouble2K (Daniel Davis) recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds. In addition to his 21 assists, AuthenticAfrican posted 14 points.

Grizz Gaming bucked the trend of its quick starts, falling behind 13-4 to start the game before taking a 19-17 lead into the second quarter. An 11-0 run after trailing 25-23 in the second frame put Grizz Gaming up for good and the team lead by 15 entering the fourth quarter.

IdrisDaGoat6 (Idris Richardson) and G O O F Y 757 (Dayvon Curry) combined for 46 of Knicks Gaming’s 61 points and 18 of the team’s 19 rebounds. IdrisDaGoat6 finished with 24 points and six rebounds while G O O F Y 757 posted a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. iamadamthe1st (Adam Kudeimaiti) dished 11 assists.

Grizz Gaming continues regular season play with two games in Week 8 action. The squad opens up with a tilt against Bucks Gaming on Friday, July 6 at 7 p.m. CT. The following day, the team takes on Wizards District Gaming at 11 a.m. CT.
