Grizz Gaming loses final series of group play in Slam Open

Memphis, Tenn. — Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, fell to Hornets Venom GT 3-2 in a best-of-five series against Hornets Venom GT in their final series of group play in the Slam Open.

The teams traded close wins in Games 1-2 before Hornets Venom GT defeated Grizz Gaming 22-9 in Game 3. Grizz Gaming came back in Game 4 with Brian Lunsford (LogicStark) scoring a team-high 10 points. Grizz Gaming led 25-24, but Xavier St. John (Big Saint) hit the game-winning triple to clinch the series for Hornets Venom GT. 

Grizz Gaming will return to the court next week as bracket play begins in the Slam Open.
