Grizz Gaming overcomes slow start, routs Nets GC

Grizz Gaming (7-7) pulled even in regular season play with an 80-51 rout over Nets GC (7-7) Friday night at the NBA 2K League Studio powered by INTEL. Grizz outscored the Nets 54-20 in the second and fourth quarters, including 29-5 in the final frame.
The Nets led 18-9 after the first quarter before the Grizz Gaming offensive attack began to stir. The team went on a 12-2 run to start the second period and a buzzer beater by AuthenticAfrican resulted in a 34-33 lead heading into halftime. Grizz Gaming went on another 12-2 run in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Four of five gamers scored 14 or more for Grizz Gaming, led by a monstrous effort from AuthenticAfrican,who had 27 points, 11 rebounds and six steals on 11-of-17 shooting. DDouble (19 points) was 9-of-11 from the field and also had six steals. Lav and NateKhal led the Nets with 19 points apiece. The Nets turned the ball over 17 times while Grizz Gaming committed only five turnovers.
Grizz Gaming returns to action during the final week of the regular season on Wednesday, July 17 at 8 p.m. CT against Warriors Gaming Squad. The team will also play its game against Magic Gaming that was postponed this week due to travel issues. Details for that game are still to be determined. Tonight’s game was originally to be played Thursday.
