Grizz Gaming players eligible for NBA 2K League’s inaugural All-Star Game

Seven Players from Each Conference to be Selected; Fan Voting Window Open from Aug. 16 Through Aug. 26 on NBA2KLeague.com

Memphis, Tenn. — The NBA 2K League today announced that the inaugural NBA 2K League All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels. Additional details regarding the 2021 NBA 2K League All-Star Game and location will be announced at a later date.

The rosters for the 2021 NBA 2K League All-Star Game will consist of seven players each from both the Eastern and Western conference, and will be determined by a vote of fans, current NBA 2K League players, head coaches and general managers, and a media panel. Grizz Gaming fans can vote for AuthenticAfrican (Mehyar Ahmed-Hassan), Chess (Kory Taylor), followTHEGOD (Kwan Niblack Jr.), Jrod (Justin Rodriguez), Spartxn (Josh McHatten) and Vandi (Zach Vandivier) on NBA2KLeague.com from Monday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. ET through Thursday, Aug. 26, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Throughout the voting window, fans may submit one full ballot each day. All current NBA 2K League players will be available for selection. Friday, Aug. 20, from midnight ET – 11:59 p.m. ET will be a “2-for-1 Day,” allowing fans to have their votes count twice.

The 2021 NBA 2K League All-Star Game will be a 5-on-5, best-of-three series with players competing on PS5 consoles in NBA 2K22’s Pro-Am mode. The NBA 2K League will award a $25,000 prize pool with the winning and losing team receiving $18,000 and $7,000, respectively.

“For four seasons, the NBA 2K League has been home to the world’s best NBA 2K players, and in celebration, we are thrilled to host the NBA 2K League All-Star Game where, for the first time ever, we will see the absolute best players in the world chosen by peers, coaches, general managers, media and fans, compete and showcase their skills playing the newly-released NBA 2K22. It is another amazing first for the NBA 2K League that we hope to make tradition.” said NBA 2K League President Brendan Donohue.

Fans will account for 50 percent of the vote, players will account for 25 percent of the vote, and a combination of head coaches, general managers and media will account for the final 25 percent of the vote. Fan voting will serve as the tiebreaker for players in a position group with the same score.

After all votes are tallied, players will be ranked in each conference by position (guard and frontcourt) within each of the three voting groups. Each player’s score will be calculated by averaging their weighted rank from the fan votes, the player votes, and the head coach, general manager and media votes. The three guards and four frontcourt players with the best score in each conference will be named 2021 NBA 2K League All-Stars.

The NBA 2K League All-Star rosters will be announced during the 2021 NBA 2K League Finals Delivered with DoorDash on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 5 p.m. ET on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels. Each head coach in the NBA 2K League Finals Delivered with DoorDash will lead the team from the same conference and select the five starters in the 2021 NBA 2K League All-Star Game.

Grizz Gaming returns to the court on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m. vs. Raptors Uprising GC in the team’s regular season finale. Grizz Gaming has already clinched their berth to the NBA 2K League playoffs beginning Thursday, Aug. 26, live from Dallas, Texas.
