Grizz Gaming rebounds from loss against Pacers Gaming for largest win in franchise history

Long Island City, N.Y. — Grizz Gaming split regular season play for the second straight week at the NBA 2K League Studio powered by Intel tonight. After an early 10-point lead, the team was outscored 38-26 in the second half and dropped a 69-59 result to Pacers Gaming. In its second game of the evening, Grizz Gaming routed Pistons GT 96-62 for its largest margin of victory in franchise history.

Kelmav made his debut for Grizz Gaming, scoring 16 points in his first game and following up with a 28-point performance (8-13 3P) against Pistons GT.

The first quarter of the team’s rout of Pistons GT was a track meet, with the teams tied at 21-21 at the end of the period. DevGoss had 16 of Pistons GT’s 21 points. Grizz Gaming knocked down three straight from long range to open the second quarter, which led to a 16-2 run. The teams combined to shoot 33-of-45 (.733) in the first half, with Grizz shooting an exemplary 19-of-24 (.792).

DDouble picked up where the team left off in the second half, opening things up with another three-pointer before Grizz Gaming extended the lead to as much as 40 late in the fourth quarter. The team finished the game shooting 15-of-25 (.600) from three-point range.

All five gamers reached double figures, led by Kelmav’s 28. AuthenticAfrican had a monster game down low of 18 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Vandi (21 points, nine assists) fell one assist shy of his second double-double of the evening. DDouble added 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting while Jayrod added 11 points. DevGoss finished with 25 points to lead Pistons GT.

After trading buckets to the open game one, Grizz Gaming started the second quarter on a 15-6 run to build a 10-point lead. However, Pacers Gaming cut the Grizz lead to two by halftime (33-31). The game reversed course in the third quarter, with the Pacers opening the period on a 17-8 run, including a 9-0 run after the game was tied at 41-41. Pacers Gaming led by as many as 12 in the fourth quarter.

Vandi (20 points, 10 assists) and AuthenticAfrican (16 points, 12 rebounds) posted double-doubles for Grizz Gaming. Kelmav finished his debut with 16 points and six boards. Ramo and Man In A Car scored 20 points apiece for Pacers Gaming.
