Grizz Gaming selects two gamers in the 2022 NBA 2K League Draft

Team Completes Roster for 2022 NBA 2K League Season

Memphis, Tenn. — Grizz Gaming, the Memphis Grizzlies’ NBA 2K League team, today selected two gamers in the 2022 NBA 2K League Draft. The team selected Michael “BP” Diaz with the 12th overall pick (first round) and Justin “Jrod” Rodriguez with the 38th overall pick (second round), rounding out the roster for the 2022 NBA 2K League season.

“We couldn’t be more excited to add BP and Jrod to our Grizz Gaming squad,” said General Manager and Head Coach Lang Whitaker. “We have assembled a veteran, versatile team heading into Season of 5 of the NBA 2K League, and I am confident that BP and Jrod will only make us stronger and more dynamic. We can’t wait to get our team together here in Memphis and start putting in work.”

BP appeared in 18 games last season for Hawks Talon GC and averaged 15.3 points, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals. The Bridgeport, Conn., native shot 52.6% from the field and 47.1% from 3-point range. BP enters his fourth season in the NBA 2K League following two seasons with Hawks Talon GC and one season with Kings Guard Gaming.

Jrod appeared in one game last season for Grizz Gaming and totaled 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. The New York native returns for his fourth season with Grizz Gaming.

AuthenticAfrican (Meyhar Ahmed-Hassan), JMoney (Jordan Martinez) and Spartxn (Josh McHatten) remain on the Grizz Gaming roster, which now stands at five players.
