Grizz Gaming tips off 2023 season with two series sweeps

Memphis, Tenn. — Grizz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, tipped off the 2023 season by sweeping best-of-five series against Hornets Venom GT and DUX Infinitos.

Grizz Gaming won its first series 3-0 against Hornets Venom GT, as CP (Harry Friedman) debuted with 16 points and assisted on the two other Grizz Gaming baskets, as the team finished 9-of-9 from the field. After Grizz Gaming won Game 2, CP recorded 12 points and assisted on the other four baskets in the series-clinching Game 3. Grizz Gaming shot 9-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, in Game 3.

Grizz Gaming wrapped up the night with a best-of-five series sweep against DUX Infinitos, winning the first two matchups by one possession before pulling away in the series-clinching Game 3. After Grizz Gaming shot 11-of-14 in its Game 1 win, LogicStark (Brian Lunsford) scored 11 points (5-5 FG) in Game 2.
Grizz Gaming will look to continue their hot start to the Slam Open with a matchup against Mavs Gaming on Friday, March 10, at 5 p.m. CT followed by a matchup against 76ers GC at 7:15 p.m.
