Grizz Gaming drops both Week 3 matchups

Grizz Gaming lost both Week 3 contests to fall to 1-3 in regular season play. The squad fell to Kings Guard Gaming 76-62 before losing the final game of the day in a 71-58 decision to Jazz Gaming.

In the day’s first matchup, Kings Guard controlled the lead from the jump, but Grizz Gaming went basket for basket and trailed 29-27 midway through the second frame. Kings Guard would then extend the lead to seven (36-29) by halftime and pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 16.

Mehyar Ahmed-Hassan (AuthenticAfrican) led Grizz Gaming with his third double-double (23 points, 10 assists) and a game-high three steals. He shot 11-of-15 from the field and has 10 made field goals in five of his eight games this season.Larell Mitchell (Winner_Stayz_On) had an efficient 15 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 3P). Antonio Saldivar (UniversalPhenom)continued his consistent production with 14 points and eight rebounds.

All five Kings Guard players reached double figure scoring, led by Jhade Black’s (worthingcolt) 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting. Eric Donald (Timelycook; 15 points, 11 assists) and Mitchell Frankin (mootyy; 10 points, 13 rebounds) each posted double-doubles. Shane Farrar (SAFiya4ya; 15 points) shot 5-of-5 from three-point range.

In game two, Memphis’ team fell behind 11-3 early before closing the opening quarter on an 11-4 run of its own, including the final six points. AuthenticAfrican split a pair of free throws to tie the game at 25-25 with 30 seconds remaining in the half before Jazz Gaming took a 28-25 lead into halftime. Jazz Gaming opened the second half on a 13-0 run that proved to be the difference.

AuthenticAfrican again led Grizz Gaming in scoring with 19 points to go with nine assists and four rebounds. He also knocked down his first two three-pointers of the season. Additionally, UniversalPhenom (17 points, 11 rebounds) posted his first double-double of the season.

Malik Leisinger (MrSlaughter01) had a monster night for Jazz Gaming with 22 points, 17 rebounds and three steals on 10-of-15 shooting. Shaka Browne (Yeah I Compete) chipped in with 12 points and a game-high 17 assists. The Jazz held major advantages in rebounds (26-17) and assists (27-14)

Grizz Gaming continues regular season play next Saturday, June 2. The team will match up with Magic Gaming (1-2) at noon CT at the NBA 2K League Studio Powered by Intel in New York City.
