Grizz Gaming wins Back-and-Forth Affair against 76ers GC

Long Island City, N.Y. — Grizz Gaming knocked off 76ers GC by a score of 52-49 Wednesday night at the NBA 2K League Studio powered by INTEL, improving to 6-6 on the season. The team has won six of its last nine regular season games.
Vandi and AuthenticAfrican combined to shoot 19-of-23 from the field. AuthenticAfrican (11-13 FG) finished with 22 points, eight boards, four assists and three steals. Vandi (8-10 FG) posted 19 points and six assists. Radiant and ZDS led 76ers GC with 16 points each.
After a 5-5 tie, 76ers GC went on a 7-0 run before eventually leading 18-11 after the opening frame. 76ers GC shot 4-of-5 from three in the period while Radiantand ZDS combined for 15 of the team’s 18 points. Grizz Gaming’s defense settled in during the second quarter and a Jayrod three tied things back up at 21-21. The Sixers responded with two straight threes and eventually led 31-23 at halftime.
Grizz Gaming chipped away at the lead in the third quarter but couldn’t get over the hump and 76ers GC maintained its lead (40-33). A pair of threes by DDoubleand Vandi immediately cut the lead to one to start the fourth and a Vandi dunk on the next possession gave Grizz Gaming its first lead since it was 3-0 to start the game.
After a tight couple of minutes, Grizz Gaming took a 50-46 lead with under two minutes to play. Newdini cut the game to one before AuthenticAfrican stayed hot and put the Grizz back up three with 45 seconds to go. On the ensuing possession, AuthenticAfrican recorded a steal near midcourt, but a Vandi turnover on the inbound gave 76ers one last chance with 15 seconds remaining. A missed three by Newdini sealed the game for Grizz Gaming.
Grizz Gaming (6-6) continues action in Week 10 tomorrow night when the team takes on Blazer5 Gaming (12-1) at 7 p.m. CT.
