Hot start fizzles out for Grizz Gaming at THE TURN powered by AT&T

Grizz Gaming got out to a hot start but couldn’t sustain it in a 68-63 loss to T-Wolves Gaming at THE TURN Powered by AT&T inside HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel and Casino. Grizz led by as many as nine early in the second quarter but were outscored 39-23 in the second and third quarters.
Grizz Gaming was hot out of the gate, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range, including two treys for Vandi, and took a 19-13 lead into the second quarter.
DDouble2K dialed up another from long-range to start the second before T-Wolves Gaming went on a 15-2 tear to take a four-point lead. Grizz Gaming stopped the bleeding to stay within five (37-32) at halftime but were outscored 24-13 in the period. T-Wolves Gaming extended the lead to 10 in the third quarter and 13 in the final frame. Memphis’ team would come within five on two occasions but couldn’t get over the hill.
AuthenticAfrican led the charge for Grizz Gaming with 24 points, eight boards, four assists four steals and two blocks on 9-of-12 shooting. Jayrod added 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from long range. NachoTraynor led T-Wolves Gaming in scoring with 22 points on 8-of-11 from the field. BearDaBeast added 14 points and a game-high 18 assists.
Grizz Gaming continues regular season action next Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. CT with a rematch against T-Wolves Gaming and Friday, May 17 at 5 p.m. CT against Hawks Talon GC.
