Stagnant start bounces Grizz Gaming from THE TICKET powered by AT&T

Grizz Gaming was eliminated from THE TICKET powered by AT&T, falling to Magic Gaming by a score of 62-54 Thursday night at The Fortress at Full Sail University.

Grizz Gaming was stagnant to open the game, trailing 15-3 after the first quarter while shooting 1-of-8 from the field and committing five turnovers. The Grizz picked it up in the second quarter, however, and were able to stop the bleeding despite Magic Gaming shooting 13-of-20 in the first half of play to trail 28-17 at halftime.

The Grizz were able to cut the lead to four in the third by outscoring the Magic 15-8 over the first 4:30 of the period before trailing 41-35 heading into the final frame. Memphis’ team continued to chip away in the fourth and cut the lead to three on four occasions, the latest with 45 seconds remaining on a three by Vandi, but the Magic had an answer on each occasion.

Vandi led the Grizz with an effort of 21 points and eight assists on 9-of-11 shooting (3-4 3P) while Jayrod (12 points) also reached double figures. Reizey carried the Magic with a stellar performance of 32 points (13-19 FG) and seven assists.

Grizz Gaming is on a bye week during Week 9 play and will return to action in Week 10, starting on Wednesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. CT against 76ers GC. The following evening, the team takes on Blazer5 Gaming at 7 p.m. CT.
