Team Enters Tournament on Four-Game Regular Season Winning Streak
The NBA 2K League this week announced details regarding THE TIPOFF powered by AT&T, its first in-season tournament of the 2020 season. The tournament begins on Tuesday, June 16, and concludes on Friday, June 19. All 23 teams will compete remotely for a prize pool of $160,000. All tournament games will air live on ESPN2 and ESPN’s digital platforms as well as the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube.
Grizz Gaming enters the tournament on a four-game winning streak in regular season play, highlighted by a 2-1 series victory over defending NBA 2K League champion T-Wolves Gaming Tuesday night.
THE TIPOFF features two days of pool play on June 16-17 to determine the eight teams that advance to the playoffs on June 18-19. Pool play comprises five groups of three teams and two groups of four teams. Each team will play four games in pool play, competing against up to three other teams in its group twice. Grizz Gaming will compete in Group 3 with Pacers Gaming and Warriors Gaming Squad.

At the conclusion of pool play, the seven teams with the best records in each group as well as one wild card entrant will advance to the playoffs, with tiebreaker scenarios applying if needed. Each matchup in the playoff rounds will be played in a best-of-three format.
The winner of THE TIPOFF will earn nearly half of the prize pool, with the remainder awarded to the runner-up, third- and fourth-place finishers (first place – $70,000; second place – $50,000; third and fourth place – $20,000 each).
The NBA 2K League also announced that remote gameplay for the regular season has been extended for at least four more weeks (through Week 11 of the regular season ending Friday, July 17). Information about the remainder of the 2020 NBA 2K League season schedule will be announced in the coming days.
